You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Activities

CIEE's excursions and cultural activities in Taipei will open doors for you to explore Taiwan's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Follow the "road to heaven" to visit some of Taipei's temples, shrines, and mosques, where you can experience the city's rich spiritual heritage
  • Explore scenic hiking trails and breathtaking views, such as Elephant Mountain and Yangmingshan National Park, where you can hike through lush forests and experience the natural beauty of Taiwan
  • Learn about Taiwanese culture by attending local festivals, where you can immerse yourself in traditional music, dance, and food, and gain a deeper understanding of the city's customs and traditions

Academics

CIEE Taipei: Located in the modern SkyCo Nanjing Fuxing Coworking Space, CIEE Taipei is just a two-minute walk from Nanjing Fuxing metro station. On-site, discover comfortable study spaces, complimentary Wi-Fi, and free Americano coffee. CIEE Taipei staff members are fluent in both English and Mandarin and are available by appointment to assist with any academic support needs.

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU): Established in 1946, NTNU is known for its contributions to the field of education and for producing skilled educators who have significantly impacted Taiwan's educational landscape. In addition to its academic achievements, NTNU is famous for its language education programs, particularly the Mandarin Training Center (MTC), which is one of the leading centers for learning Mandarin Chinese.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
