You will receive individualized support from ASA’s advisors and staff throughout your program application process, while you are abroad, and when you return.

Before you depart we will work with you and the staff at your home institution to help you prepare for your time abroad by giving you personal access to our Student Success program, which will help you maximize your experience in your host country. You will also receive a detailed pre-departure orientation guide which will help you know what to pack, what to expect when you arrive, and how to stay safe while abroad.

Once you arrive in Cuzco you will participate in our onsite orientation with the other ASA students in your group. ASA’s site director will introduce you to your host city and culture through orientation and multiple events during the program. Our intentionally small group sizes allow ASA’s students to get to know one another and are an aspect of our programs for which our alumni consistently express their appreciation. You will have opportunities to meet other students and lots of new people through your classes, social events and optional language partners.

ASA programs include excursions, volunteer opportunities, housing, meals, academic credits, transcripts, mobile phones, airport pick-up on arrival, medical insurance and more! Contact ASA or your advisor to learn about ASA’s Price Guarantee for all of our programs.

Study at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) and learn Spanish in the capital of the Inca Empire. You’ll be living near Machu Picchu and can even participate in an excursion up to this modern wonder of the world and World Heritage Site. You will find physical and theoretical bridges between both your classroom and extracurricular activities. USIL is a modern bilingual university which graduates young entrepreneurs who contribute to the sustainable development of Peru, while embracing a multicultural learning community.

This program is for students at all levels of Spanish language. You will study Spanish grammar and conversation as well as Peruvian culture with students from the US and around the world. Electives are taught in English in a number of different subject areas including Literature, Biodiversity, Art, and History. Language level placement exams will be taken at the beginning of the program.

A full list of classes for this program can be found on the ASA website through the link at the top of this page. Two different summer terms are available.

"My time spent abroad was absolutely amazing, and I give
a lot of credit to ASA for making it the best it could be."
