Program Information:
La Trobe University, established in 1967, is one of Australia's largest and fastest growing public universities. The university has over 26,000 students, including 4,600 international students. La Trobe's main campus is located in Bundoora, about eight miles from central Melbourne and is situated on 500 acres of Australian bushland which is home to countless breeds of fauna and flora. La Trobe?s Bendigo Campus (home to the Adventure Education Program) is ninety miles northwest of Melbourne in a city of 92,000 people. Look forward to this and more:

  • Study in the cultural capitol of Australia - Melbourne is home to Australian film and impressionistic art, as well as concerts that showcase Australian music.
  • Vibrant community - Because you will be living on campus, you'll learn about each residence hall and its unique culture and personality. It is easy to get involved on-campus with various clubs and organizations.
  • CISAbroad Adventure Orientation - Participate in our orientation to get a feel for the city and for campus life. We will help you get accustomed to the culture and a new, fun way of life.

Academics:
The average credit load you will take will be 45 to 60 La Trobe credit points (three to four subjects). Each week you are expected to attend one large lecture per week and one or two smaller tutorial classes. The university offers courses in the following disciplines: humanities and social sciences; education; business; law and management; health sciences; science and computing; and engineering.

Both campuses offer everything you need to succeed in the classroom: first-class library and computer facilities, modern visual-arts studios, and state-of-the-art laboratories for chemistry, biomedicine, and other sciences. Additionally, the diverse student population at La Trobe provides an exciting background for students who wish to experience the Australian way of life.

Student Life:
As part of this program, you will be invited to take part in the four-day adventure orientation. We will help you get acclimated to living on-campus in a dormitory, as well as show you where your classes are located. You'll have the chance to mingle with fellow CISabroad students as well, during this orientation.

After that, we help you settle into orientation week at the university. There are tons of clubs and organizations to join and it is really easy to get involved on campus. Enjoy access to a state of the art library, as well as awesome sports facilities.

Highlights:

  • Large student body to study alongside
  • Access to sports facilities and equipment
  • Vibrant campus community that you will be a member of
  • Live and study alongside other international students
  • Fieldwork and internship opportunities
